We're going camping in Wisconsin this weekend. I'm always overzealous with vacation reading, usually only making it through a couple chapters and somehow coming home with new books.

Have you read anything worth recommending lately? Have you read either of the two above? I'd love to hear.

Now, into the wild.

  1. i tried reading wilderness tips, but nothing is ever as good as cat's eye, for me, when it comes to margaret atwood...so i always end up back with that one, in hand and on the brain.

    have a great vacation! :)

    1. "Cat's Eye" is the favorite book of one of my best friends, too! I'll have to get a copy.

  2. I recently read and loved Rules of Civility by Amor Towles and am currently reading and loving Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter. But if you haven't read The Elegance of the Hedgehog or Falling to Earth (both Europa editions), both are wonderful. Oh, and Tinkers by Paul Harding! Just so sadly beautiful!

    1. Ooh, thanks Kendra! I read "Tinkers" last year and found it so haunting and beautiful, a book I'd like to re-read sometime. And, "Rules of Civility" has that great cover.

    1. funny that summer's the opposite for so many people—a time to relax and take off—but you're looking to the cooler months for some time off. good luck with these last busy weeks and wishing you a good book in your near future! xx
